Football Game Etiquette

 For Players: 

1.      Respect Your Opponents: Show sportsmanship by treating opponents with respect, regardless of the game’s outcome. 

 2.      Follow the Rules: Adhere to all game rules and regulations, and respect the decisions made by referees. 

  3.      Encourage Teammates: Support your teammates on and off the field, promoting a positive team environment. 

  4.      Be Punctual: Arrive on time for practices and games to ensure full participation and preparation. 

For Coaches: 

 1.      Model Good Sportsmanship: Set an example by demonstrating respect for officials, players, and opponents. 

     2.      Communicate Positively: Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to players during games. 

     3.      Focus on Development: Prioritize player growth and enjoyment over winning at all costs. 

     4.      Manage Behavior: Address any unsportsmanlike behavior promptly, both on the field and from the sidelines. 

For Parents and Spectators: 

     1.      Cheer Positively: Support your team with positive encouragement. Avoid negative comments toward players, referees, or opponents. 

     2.      Respect The Coaches: Understand that coaches are human and make mistakes; refrain from criticizing their decisions. 

     3.      Be Mindful of Space: Keep clear of the sideline to ensure players and coaches have room to operate. 

     4.      Encourage Fair Play: Promote good sportsmanship among other parents and fans, reinforcing a positive atmosphere. 

General Game Etiquette: 

 

     1.      Be Prepared: Bring necessary items such as snacks, water, and any gear needed for the game. 

     2.      Stay Engaged: Pay attention during the game and be respectful of the players’ and coaches’ focus. 

     3.      Practice Good Hygiene: Maintain cleanliness, especially in shared spaces like benches and team areas. 

     4.      Respect Facility Rules: Follow all guidelines set by the venue, including parking and seating arrangements. 

     5.          Respect Officials: Understand that referees are human and make mistakes; refrain from criticizing their decisions. 

6. Be Mindful of Space: Keep clear of the sideline to ensure players and coaches have room to operate.  Remain in the designated parent/spectator areas until the team as come off of the field.
